They couldn't do anything about copyright because they aren't plagiarizing the Raggedy Ann and Andy stories ( some of the orginals are a little weird by modern standards ) .... trademark, maybe. Even so, I doubt there was any sort of infringement. Strawberry Shortcake would have to be a blatant, stroke-by-stroke copy of Raggedy Ann and Andy. Holly Hobby was much closer to the Raggedy image. Strawberry Shortcake and Holly Hobby were influence by the "LIttle House On The Prairie" era more than anything else. How sad that in less than 30 years, we've gone from giving our children lovable images to sexy "tween" icons to emulate.
