The intelligent educated guy who thinks he's "too smart to be conned" is often the grifter's best victim. Best rule to go buy? Unless you are dealing with a person you know well or a licensed investment firm that has a good reputation, just say NO!

interaction skills need to kick in to realize that these "schemes" are thought up by individuals just the same. So, a better question might be "are people intelligent enough to analyze a scheme/concept and reproduce it, so that it works for them?" Kind of beats signing on to something as a recruit.
