Verint Video Intelligence Solutions Wins Security Technology Executive Magazine’s Prestigious “Innovation Award” with Customer Price Chopper

Business Wire
posted: 65 DAYS AGO

Verint® Systems Inc., a leading global provider of analytics software-based solutions for workforce-enterprise optimization and security, today announced that Security Technology Executive (STE) magazine has named Verint® Video Intelligence Solutions, Checkpoint Systems Inc. and Price Chopper its “2009 Security Innovation Award” gold medal winner.

Those honored in the fifth annual Security Innovation Awards were selected by a panel of industry experts, including STE Editor-in-Chief Steve Lasky. The Verint, Checkpoint Systems and Price Chopper submission—which showcased an innovative transition to an IP-based security system for a network of more than 100 retail outlets, facilities and grocery stores—was profiled as being among the best, most effective implementations and security technology solutions. “I see the Price Chopper application as a great example of a forward-thinking and well-focused migration toward an IP video solution that is cutting edge in the retail sector,” comments Lasky.

In support of the company’s ongoing loss prevention efforts, Price Chopper worked with system integrator Checkpoint Systems to design a video surveillance solution that would upgrade its legacy video systems and IT infrastructure at its distributed store locations. Price Chopper wanted to address the immediate issues of video retention and retrieval times, as well as make a strategic investment and lay a foundation for future applications and technologies. “Innovation has always been at the forefront of Price Chopper’s business initiatives, and it continues to drive our vision for the future,” explains John Neuberger, director of loss prevention for Price Chopper.

Price Chopper leverages Verint’s Nextiva® video encoders, Nextiva Retail Video Management software, and Nextiva S2610e and S2750e IP cameras; EMC’s Physical Security Solution, including EMC® CLARiiON® networked storage and EMC Navisphere® Management Suite; and IBM System x servers running VMware ESX Server for virtualization—all strategic solutions that support its focus on security, loss prevention and operational excellence.

“Winning STE magazine’s Security Innovation Award is an honor and testament to the partners who help shape the reputation of our Nextiva IP Video Management solution and make it widely available across the markets we serve, and the customers who partner with us to make it a strategic asset in their day-to-day business operations,” adds Elan Moriah, president, Verint Video Intelligence Solutions and Verint® Witness Actionable Solutions®.
