Swisscom Delivers a Converged Messaging Experience for Subscribers with 724 Solutions and Inexbee
724 Solutions, a leading provider of next generation mobile data solutions that enable seamless access and communications in an IP-based world and Inexbee, a leading IMS client software provider, announce a joint trial with Swisscom, a leading converged service provider, to establish a converged subscriber experience for messaging between Swisscom’s mobile and IMS networks.
The first phase of the collaboration will enable Swisscom to trial IMS interoperability between IMS Instant Message (IM) enabled devices and mobile messaging services (SMS and MMS) with Inexbee’s Mercuro IMS client. Inexbee’s Mercuro IMS Client was selected for its ability to provide a rich, elegant and powerful subscriber experience for these IMS-based services.
“This trial brings us one step closer to a potential commercial IMS service offering that would leverage all 5.4 million subscribers on the Swisscom network, regardless of access method or device,” said Stefan Kohler, Head of Voice & Messaging at Swisscom. “Our vision is for converged IMS-based services where subscribers can seamlessly use any communication device (PC, mobile, TV box, game console); receive any message destined for the recipient, all of the time.”
