Steve Madden Announces Licensing Agreement to Launch Steve Madden Apparel Line with L’Koral

Business Wire
posted: 29 DAYS 19 HOURS AGO

Steve Madden (Nasdaq: SHOO), a leading designer and marketer of fashion footwear and accessories for women, men and children, announced today that it has entered into a licensing agreement with L’Koral Industries to design and market a women’s fashion apparel line for the Steve Madden brand. The collection is scheduled to debut in better department stores and specialty retailers in Spring 2010.

Steve Madden, Founder, said, “I’m very excited about creating trend-right ready-to-wear for the Steve Madden customer. Jane Siskin [CEO of L’Koral] really understands my design aesthetic and the Steve Madden brand identity, making L’Koral the ideal partner for us. I’m really enjoying working with Jane to bring the Steve Madden sensibility to apparel.”

Flirty and playful, the Spring 2010 collection radiates a fresh, trendy look, offering pixie dresses, skirts, lightweight jackets, boyfriend jackets and boyfriend shorts. In keeping with the footwear brand's downtown style, the apparel line's bohemian flair is tempered with distinctly modern details. Exposed zippers, hardware details and oversized but sharply tailored boyfriend styles are juxtaposed against miniature ditsy prints and feminine ruffles.

Jane Siskin, CEO of L’Koral, commented, “We are extremely pleased to be working with Steve in developing an apparel collection that reflects his vision for the brand. We believe that the strength of the Steve Madden name, combined with L’Koral’s design and marketing capabilities, provide the ingredients for a tremendously successful endeavor.”
