New York Community Bancorp, Inc. (NYSE: NYB) (the “Company”) today announced that its chairman, president, and chief executive officer, Joseph R. Ficalora, will participate in the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Banking and Financial Services Conference to be held in New York City on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Mr. Ficalora’s presentation is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time and will focus on the Company’s third quarter 2009 performance and its business strategies.

A simultaneous webcast of the presentation, including any questions and answers, will be available at the Company’s web site, www.myNYCB.com. A replay of the webcast will be available within four hours of the presentation’s conclusion, and will be archived at the Company’s web site, together with the accompanying PowerPoint slides, through November 24, 2009.
