Innovative Skins Footwear Poised to Set Trend at Retail Stores in California
Skins Footwear, innovators of interchangeable fashion footwear, is making an impression on consumers in California, according to the company’s retail partners here. Leading footwear retailers throughout the state – including Footwear Etc., Sportie LA, Casserd’s, and J Stephens – are buzzing about the company’s spring/summer collection, which was shipped to retailers across the U.S. last month.
Skins Footwear combines high fashion and high technology to achieve new levels of comfort and style for men and women. Skins shoes are made of a unique, two-part structure consisting of an outer collapsible "Skin" and an inner support section called the "Bone."
“Simply put, Skins could change the way consumers look at footwear, and we are proud to be among the first in the world to offer Skins Footwear to our customers,” said Elie Monarch, president of Footwear Etc., which has eight stores in northern and southern California. “Our success has been built on an ability to offer fresh technology and fashion to sophisticated customers.
“We serve a highly educated, technically proficient consumer who is constantly on the lookout for the newest improvement in footwear, and we believe Skins has achieved just what our customer is looking for: interchangeable uppers on one of the most advanced comfort systems in the industry.”
Isaac Fadlon, president and owner of Sportie LA, a popular shoe and apparel retailer in Los Angeles with stores in Sherman Oaks and on Melrose Boulevard, echoed Monarch’s sentiment. “Skins have evolved to a point where its comfort and design are on par with its revolutionary technology. Our customer is sophisticated and discriminating when it comes to both, so we're not surprised that the response is very positive.”
Said Gary Hauss, president of J Stephens Shoes, which has 15 locations in southern California: “After a long wait, we are excited to be selling Skins in our stores. We look forward to getting them on our customers feet and out the door.”
Domingo Winstead, manager of the J Stephens store in Palm Desert, Calif., agrees: “It’s a great concept and Skins shoes give us something fresh and exciting to offer our consumers and something to help engage our customers in conversation. Skins help position our store as the leader in fresh technology.”
The new spring/summer collection from Skins features premium leathers and detailed workmanship built around the framework of the company’s third generation Bone and foot bed. The spring products are the initial result of the company’s new partnership with manufacturers in Brazil.
The Skins spring/summer line can also be found at retailers throughout the U.S., including Saxon Shoes in Richmond, Va.; Littles in Pittsburgh; Hawley Lane in Conn.; Summerlin Shoes in Las Vegas; The Walk Shop in Tallahassee, Fl.; Battaglia in Miami and Aventura, Fl.; Blue Sole Shoes in Philadelphia; Island Shoes in Pawleys Island, S.C.; James Davis in Memphis; and Bachrach stores in Nashville, Dallas, McLean, Va., Oklahoma City, and Troy, Mich.
About Skins
Skins Inc. created and is continuing to further develop patented innovative two-part, interchangeable footwear structures consisting of outer collapsible "Skins" and an inner holistic orthopedic support section called the "Bone." The design allows consumers to purchase one inner section, the Bone, and numerous outer Skins, resulting in multiple style variations from the same pair of quality Bones, always with the same feel and fit no matter which Skin is being worn. Skins' objective is to create a new attire concept that allows and encourages consumers to frequently change their footwear, while experiencing equal comfort in all designs of shoes. This uniquely positions the Skins concept between footwear and apparel industries. For more information, visit http://www.skinsfootwear.com.
