Flint Transfield Services announces appointment to Board of Directors and new Chairman of the Board

CALGARY, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Mr. W. J. (Bill) Lingard, current Chairman of the Board of Flint Transfield Services Limited (FT Services or the Company), announced today, as part of the Company's growth strategy, the appointment of Mr. Gerry Protti as a Director and new Chairman of the Board of FT Services effective September 16, 2009. Mr. Lingard, who is President and CEO of Flint Energy Services Ltd., will continue to serve on the Board of Directors of the Company. FT Services is jointly owned by Transfield Services Limited of Sydney, Australia and Flint Energy Services Ltd. of Calgary, Alberta.

Currently with EnCana Corporation as Executive Advisor, Mr. Protti most recently held the positions of Executive Vice President Corporate Relations from 2002 to 2009, as well as President, Offshore and International Division from 2007 to 2009. Mr. Protti also held a number of senior executive roles with EnCana Corporation and one of its predecessor companies, PanCanadian, since 1995.

Prior to joining PanCanadian in 1995, Mr. Protti was founding president of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) from 1992 to 1995. Before CAPP, Mr. Protti was Executive Director of the Independent Petroleum Association of Canada (IPAC), from 1989 to 1992.

In addition to his experience in the private sector, Mr. Protti held a number of positions with the Government of Alberta from 1982 to 1989, including Director of Finance Planning in Treasury, progressing to Executive Director of Economic Planning and Financial Analysis, and Assistant Deputy Minister in the Department of Energy Natural Resources.

Mr. Protti's current board participation includes Sub-One Technology, a California based private company, and his current non-profit board participation includes: Calgary Economic Development, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, and the University of Alberta.

Mr. Protti holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours Economics) from the University of Alberta, a Master of Arts (Economics) from the University of Western Ontario, and Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D Certification) from the Haskayne School of Business Rotman School of Management Governance College.
