BOSTON, June 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Eaton Vance Tax-Managed Global Buy-Write Opportunities Fund (NYSE: ETW), a closed-end investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three months ended March 31, 2009. The Fund's fiscal year ends on December 31, 2009.

For the three months ended March 31, 2009, the Fund had net investment income of $5,166,324 ($0.049 per common share). In comparison, for the three months ended March 31, 2008, the Fund had net investment income of $5,641,920 ($0.053 per common share).

Net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended March 31, 2009 were $80,224,911 ($0.754 per common share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended March 31, 2008 were $143,248,356 ($1.347 per common share).

On March 31, 2009, net assets of the Fund were $1,201,090,208. The net asset value per share on March 31, 2009 was $11.30 based on 106,308,067 shares outstanding. In comparison, on March 31, 2008, net assets of the Fund were $1,905,718,550. The net asset value per share on March 31, 2008 was $17.93 based on 106,308,067 shares outstanding.
