American Water Declares Quarterly Dividend
American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE:AWK) announced today that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend payment of $0.21 per share payable on December 1, 2009 to all shareholders of record as of November 18, 2009.
“This is our sixth consecutive declaration since going public in 2008 and the second payment of $0.21 per share since our Board increased the dividend by five percent this past July,” said Don Correll, president and CEO of American Water. “We are pleased to deliver this payment to our investors.”
Founded in 1886, American Water is the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater utility company. With headquarters in Voorhees, N.J., the company employs more than 7,000 dedicated professionals who provide drinking water, wastewater and other related services to approximately 15 million people in 32 states and Ontario, Canada.
