WHAT:

Allianz Life is celebrating Halloween with two special events for charity at its headquarters in Golden Valley. The 12th annual Allianz Haunted House, open to Allianz employees, features six separate scenes and more than 8,000 square feet of spooky fun. The Haunted House raises approximately $4,000 each year, which the company uses to buy bikes for its annual Toys for Tots donation.
 
Allianz is also partnering with the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery for the 9th year, providing a fun, safe afternoon of trick-or-treating for the Crisis Nursery kids. In addition, employees are encouraged to dress up and awards are given for funniest, most original and scariest costumes. Employees’ children are invited to trick-or-treat at the office in the afternoon.
 
 

WHEN:

Friday, Oct. 30, 2009
Haunted House is open from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Crisis Nursery kids will trick-or-treat from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

WHO:

Approximately 20 Allianz Life employees are involved in constructing and staffing the Haunted House, with more than 800 visitors braving the Haunted House each year.
 
Approximately a dozen Crisis Nursery kids will trick-or-treat throughout several floors of the Allianz Life headquarters building.
 
 

WHY:

The Allianz Haunted House bike donation to Toys for Tots is part of the company’s annual “Spirit of Giving” community giving campaign meant to inform, educate, and build Allianz Life employee awareness on how they can impact the lives of others in the community. The campaign runs into early December with key employee participation events including a food and clothing drive for the nonprofit PRISM and a collection of toys for Toys for Tots.
