Advantest's New Board Network Analyzer Measures Frequencies up to 6 GHz in a PC-Mounted Form Factor
TOKYO, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857, NYSE: ATE) today announced availability of its new PC-mounted board network analyzer, the R3760, for evaluation of the frequency characteristics of antennas and filters used in a broad range of portable wireless devices. The R3760 is the first network analyzer in the industry to offer evaluation of frequencies up to 6 GHz in a PC-mounted form factor that delivers convenience and cost savings
- PC-Mounted Network Analyzer Contributes to Lower-Cost Wireless Device Production
Wireless technology continues to progress in evolutionary leaps, with interface standards such as WiMAX and LTE enabling a new generation of portable wireless devices including smartphones, portable navigation devices (PNDs), and netbooks. Going forward, robust growth in these categories is expected to match solid demand for wireless-capable notebooks and PDAs, driving prices down and leading manufacturers to seek cost advantages in the manufacturing process. Network analyzers, used to evaluate the frequency characteristics of antennas and filters, have an important role to play in reducing manufacturing costs. Advantest's new R3760 meets this need with its highly compact body, designed to be mounted in a personal computer's PCI slot, which lowers setup costs to a third of the previous model's.
- Features and Benefits
(1) Lower-cost antenna frequency characteristic evaluation, compact body
The R3760 incorporates design technology developed by Advantest for its crystal oscillator network analyzer, the R3755, in a network analyzer capable of measuring frequencies up to 6 GHz, with a form factor uniquely allowing it to be mounted in the PCI slot of a personal computer (two half-size PCI slots necessary). This compact body reduces setup costs to one third of the previous model's, enabling significantly lower-cost measurements. With no need to purchase bulky new equipment, users can save space by using existing facilities to construct the measurement environment.
(2) Easily customizable measurement environment
The R3760 supports Microsoft(R) Visual Basic(R), allowing users to easily customize the measurement environment by specifying their own display settings and conditions. Ready customizability ensures improved efficiency by allowing specific antenna frequency characteristics to be targeted for measurement.
Key Specifications:
Frequency Characteristics Range: 300 MHz to 6 GHz (transmission)
500 MHz to 6 GHz (reflection)
Output Characteristics Range: 0 dBm to -10 dBm (=<3 GHz)
Measurement Parameters: Transmission, Reflection
Mounting Requirements: 2 half-size PCI slots
Input / Output: Standard parallel I/O ports
