NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) — Supertel Hospitality Inc. on Monday announced a reorganization of its senior management team that included four internal promotions.
The Norfolk, Neb., real estate investment trust promoted former Chief Accounting Officer Connie Scarpello, 55, to be chief financial officer. Scarpello replaces Don Heimes, effective immediately. Heimes, 65, had been CFO since 2004.
Steve Gilbert, 60, was appointed chief operating officer. Gilbert previously was senior vice president of capital expenditures.
Also, Paul Heybrock, 52, was promoted to be vice president and controller, while Pat Morland, 40, was promoted to assistant vice president of human resources.
CEO Kelly Walters said the promotions bring "greater balance to the decision-making process."
Supertel shares fell 15 cents, or 7.3 percent, to $1.91 in morning trading.
