Pentagon ends suspension on Woodward Governor unit
WASHINGTON (AP) — Woodward Governor Co., a manufacturer of energy control systems for aircraft, said Wednesday the Pentagon has lifted its suspension on dealing with one of its business units.
In a regulatory filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Woodward said that MPC Products Corp., which manufactures aerospace motion control systems, will be permitted to again "bid, receive and perform on U.S. government contracts."
As of July 8, MPC Products had been temporarily suspended from participating in new federal procurements and grants because of concerns about its government contract pricing practices prior to June 2005.
Woodward Governor bought MPC and Techni-Core Oct. 1, 2008. The two units form its airframe systems business.
Shares of Woodward added 31 cents to $24.50 in afternoon trading.
