Noble Energy hires Shell executive for CFO spot

HOUSTON (AP) — Noble Energy Inc. said Tuesday that it has hired a Shell Oil executive to become it chief financial officer.

Kenneth M. Fisher, 47, will join Noble Energy on Nov. 16 as a senior vice president and CFO.

Fisher has recently served as executive vice president of finance for Upstream Americas at Shell Oil Products.

He succeeds Chris Tong, who retired in August.

Fisher, 47, has more than 25 years of experience with financial and operating organizations that have been involved with complex energy and capital-intensive businesses.

Before joining Shell, he worked for General Electric Co., and was CFO of the aircraft engines services division.

Noble Energy is worldwide oil and gas exploration and production company. It operates primarily in the Rocky Mountains, Mid-Continent, and the Gulf of Mexico areas in the United States. It also has operations in offshore Israel, UK and West Africa.

Shares rose 81 cents, or 1.2 percent, to close at $70.
