KBR, RadioShack, WebMD Health are big movers
NEW YORK (AP) — The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange:
NYSE:
KBR Inc., down $1.41 at $22.61
An analyst downgraded the military contractor and said profit could decline significantly this year as U.S. troops exit Iraq.
ION Geophysical Corp., up 90 cents at $4.44
The world's largest land seismic contractor announced a global joint venture that will dramatically cut its debt.
RadioShack Corp., up $2.49 at $18.15
RadioShack's third-quarter profit slipped as it closed some kiosks and dealt with a continued pullback in consumer spending.
Symmetry Medical Inc., down $1.72 at $7.84
Symmetry slashed its annual profit and revenue forecasts, saying demand from orthopedic and non-orthopedic customers has been weak.
NASDAQ:
Ares Capital Corp., up $1.30 at $11.99
The finance company will buy Allied Capital Corp., which provides financing for buyouts, in an all-stock deal worth $648 million.
WebMD Health Corp., down 21 cents at $34.07
Ananalyst raised his rating on the stock after the health Web site operator completed a merger with HLTH Corp., its former parent.
Sohu.com Inc., down $11.43 at $59.92
The major Chinese Web portal's quarterly earnings fell on lower revenue from its online games unit, while total sales rose to a record.
BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc., up $1.28 at $10.94
The experimental drug peramivir received emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration as a swine flu treatment.
