Bronco Drilling says fleet use up in September
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oil and gas services company Bronco Drilling Co. said Monday that its drilling fleet was in use for more days in September than in the previous month.
The fleet was in use for 24 percent of the month, compared with 21 percent in August. This is down, though, from 32 percent in the second quarter, which ended June 30.
Bronco said it had 45 marketed drilling rigs in September, on average, compared with the same number in August and in the second quarter. The average day rate on operating drilling rigs in September was $15,603, down from $15,671 at the end of August and $16,124 in the second quarter.
Shares rose 8 cents to close earlier at $6.95.
