The Service & Support Professionals Association (SSPA) announced that
Approva, Cisco, Cisco-Linksys, EMC, NetApp, Oracle, Sun Microsystems,
and Symantec are recipients of the 2008 SSPA STAR Award for Best
Practices. The prestigious peer-recognition awards honor companies that
demonstrate ongoing high-level commitment to delivering world-class
results in software and technical support.
Winners were honored today during a luncheon awards ceremony at the SSPA
Best Practices Conference in Santa Clara, California, where NetApp and
Sun also were inducted into the SSPA Hall of Fame. This special
recognition is awarded to a select group of companies that have won five
SSPA STAR Awards since the program’s inception
in 1989.
"These outstanding service and support organizations exemplify the
'Essential Elements of Support' theme of our conference, and we are
pleased to recognize them for mastering core fundamentals that take
service and support to the next level—from
break-fix to breakthrough support,” said
