NEW YORK, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard & Poor's, the leading provider
of financial market intelligence, announced today the appointment of Martin
Goldberg as Senior Director in the Quantitative Analytics Research Group and
head of the firm's newly established independent Model Quality Review Group.
Mr. Goldberg will report to Mark Adelson, S&P's Chief Credit Officer.
Prior to joining Standard & Poor's, Mr. Goldberg was head of the Model
Validation Group at Citigroup. At Citigroup, he was responsible for a staff of
quantitative analysts, including 20 PhDs that performed independent validation
of approximately 1,500 complex financial models. Mr. Goldberg's group was also
responsible for validating models prior to use on any trading desks.

Prior to Citigroup, Mr. Goldberg was Vice President, Market Risk
Management at Chase Manhattan Bank, where he led quantitative analytic teams
focused on options, fixed income default, credit derivatives and
mark-to-market loan pricing. He has also held positions at American
International Group, Manufacturers Hanover Trust, Bank of New York and
Metropolitan Life.

Mr. Goldberg holds a B.S. in Chemistry from California Institute of
