MTS Announces Subscriber Growth Numbers for April 2008

MOSCOW, May 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mobile TeleSystems OJSC ("MTS") (NYSE: MBT), the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, announces that it's consolidated subscriber base reached 85.68 million users on April 30, 2008.

    During April 2008, MTS' consolidated subscriber base increased by 0.74
million subscribers.
