Family Dollar Names James C. Snyder, Jr. Senior Vice President – General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Family Dollar Stores, Inc. (NYSE: FDO) today announced that it has named James C. Snyder, Jr., to the position of Senior Vice President – General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Prior to joining Family Dollar, Mr. Snyder served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Legal and Risk Management with The Home Depot, Inc. Prior to joining The Home Depot, Inc., Mr. Snyder was a Partner with the law firm of King & Spalding LLP where he practiced for 12 years. Mr. Snyder earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Wake Forest University and a Juris Doctorate from George Washington University.
