PLAINFIELD, Ind., May 13, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Brightpoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:CELL) (the "Company") announced today the results of its 2008 Annual Meeting of Shareholders held today. The Company's shareholders approved all of proposals set forth in its Proxy Statement dated March 31, 2008. The proposals approved were as follows:
1) the election of Thorleif Krarup, Marisa E. Pratt and
Richard W. Roedel as Class II directors, each to hold
office until Brightpoint's Annual Meeting of Shareholders
to be held in 2011 and until the director's successor has
been duly elected and qualified;
2) the amendment of Brightpoint's 2004 Long-Term Incentive Plan
to increase the number of shares available for issuance
thereunder by 2,173,953 shares; and
3) the ratification of the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as
Brightpoint's independent registered public accounting firm
for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2008.
