Schwab May daily trading volume jumps 15 percent

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Charles Schwab Corp.'s May average daily trading volume rose 15 percent in May, the online brokerage said Friday.

Average daily trading volume rose to 304,700 last month from 265,000 a year ago.

Client assets rose 6 percent to $1.47 trillion from $1.39 trillion last year.

Schwab shares added 54 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $21.89 in morning trading. The stock has ranged from $17.41 to $25.72 in the past year.
