YET ANOTHER SIGN THAT WE NEED LEADERSHIP IN THIS COUNTRY. THE LAWYERS (POLITICIANS) ARE RUNNING THIS WONDERFUL COUNTRY INTO THE GROUND. IN THE NEXT DECADE WE WON'T KNOW THE U.S. AS WE ONCE DID.
THERE WILL BE A HUGE SEPARATION BETWEEN THE HAVES AND HAVE NOTS.
THIS WILL NOT BE GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY. IT WILL CREATE A VERY DANGEROUS PLACE TO LIVE AND WORK. CRIME IS ALREADY ON THE RISE.

Report This! It really doesn't matter. The numbers tell all. All of the major airlines are loosing money and will eventually shut down when they run out of money. The only way to make money is to have the most fuel efficient fleet, the highest passenger load and reduce pilot pay another 50%. Additional pilot pay should be based on profit sharing combined with seniority and job performance.
Since the major airlines won't do this, none of this will occur until after the airlines close up shop and new start ups take their place.

You are delusional. It's not the employees who are dragging the company down, it's the 50 VP's and Tilton and his hand-picked board of directors that are sucking UAL dry. They just voted themselves 135 million dollars! HELLO? The pilots are getting zip....so are the rest of the employees, while Tilton and Friends are living high off the hog. RE-REGU

tyggerss2 02:42:18 AM Jun 24 2008

They need to get rid of Tilton and his cronies....he never intended to make UAL a viable airline; he always planned to run it into the ground and take his golden parachute while siphoning off as much money as he can before he bails. Corporate America are the greediest SOB's on the planet, living high while the lessor emplyees take numerous pay cuts and see their pensions dumped---then award themselves bonuses and stock options. WHAT AN EFF-ING BUNCH OF BASTARDS.

davidandkathleen>>>Good - the pilots are fat and happy anyway. Two crew meals on a 4 hour flight. potty breaks every 30 - 45 minutes. Give me a break, you all think you are so good, just wait until the next chapter 11<<<

Uhhh, where and when do airline crews get two meals on a 4hr flight? And how do bathroom breaks enter into it? When you have to go you have to go, and it's not every half an hour, I assure you.... Unless there's a prostate problem to attend to.

What excellent job do YOU have where your bathroom breaks are monitored? I hope your company's Ch.11 proceedings involve you getting sent home, since you are so quick to hope for the parking of pilot jobs....
