I don't think I'd call factory work "nice".

Unless by "nice" you mean $50k... Hard to find work that pays that well yet doesn't require any formal training or secondary education.

How'd YOU like it, Laney, if your employer said "Hey Laney, guess what, time for a 40% pay cut!"???

Having said that... $17/hr is a reasonable wage for the kind of work they're doing, so perhaps they should just be happy that they somehow were getting paid over 50 large per year for a job in the "unskilled labor" sector.
