If a farmer owns wheat from his harvest he may hold that wheat from the market in anticipation of higher prices later in the year. Once again he must have the storage for his commodity. If the anticipated rise is higher then the return from investments for the cash he gets immediately he may hold his wheat. If enough farmers do that there will be a speculative run up in the price of wheat.
