Sure, they'll sell us, food, and fuel. There is no fuel, cheaper than oil/gasoline, at this time. When gasoline surpasses $10.00 per gallon, some alternative fuels might compete, at a lower price. Until the cost of gasoline increases more than the current $3.70/3.90 per gallon We cannot produce unsubsidized Ethanol, for less than $6.89 per gallon.

Stop listening to the Oil marketing departments about how alcohol fuels will take to much time to develop and food from the consumer. The people to the South of our border would love to open their markets to sell us fuel and food.

T. Boone Pickens, a guy who knows something about oil, said in an interview this morning that he expects crude oil to hit $150.00 before this is over. Pickens attributes the increase in oil prices to the growth of the Chinese economy over the past several years. Democrats, of course blame Bush but the reality is;

"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Clinton closed years of political and economic debate Tuesday, and sealed a major achievement of his administration by signing a bill extending permanent, normal trade status to China. "Today we take a major step toward China's entry into the World Trade Organization and a major step toward answering some of the central challenges of this new century," Clinton said."

There is very little our government can do about the gas prices but there is something we the American public can do. And that is to reduce the use of our cars,car pool when possible, drive slower,55 mph, plan your shopping trips,use public transportation where available, walk to stores,use bicycles and in general leave the car in the garage or driveway when ever possible. Have the truckers shut their vehicles down while stopped for deliveries or extended stopped periods. We can demand that the government create a "Manhattan Project" to reduce our dependence on foreign oil but that would be years away.
