Don't buy pet insurance it is almost worthless. Also never ever buy insurance from any of the fllowing companies if you want your claim paid quickly and without litigation. Allstate, Statefarm, AIG, USAA, Nationwide, Farmers, National Grange, and especially Progressive Halcyon.

In my opinion Pet Insurance is a ripoff, just check to see what they cover and you will see that they cover so little that it would be cheaper if you saved the premiums in your draw.

Also with the Vet's going wild with what they are now charging a Vet is no longer a friendly animal doctor but money hungry grubbers.

It costs more to treat a dog then a human and to walk out of an animal hospital with a bill over $2000 is quite common and they do not pay for malpractice insurance.
