I THINK HONDA SHOULD STICK WITH THEIR CHIPMUNK POWERED CARS. THEY'RE CHEAPER TO MAINTAIN AND ASIDE FROM A FEW DROPPINGS, EASIER ON THE ENVIROMENT.

helllloooo Jcbocskay, is there anyone home?

the volt being released in 2010 is going to change the auto industry as we know it. i guess the ford escape hybrid doesnt exist? its been on the market for a few years now. the gm two-mode system is also available. not to mention the BAS system due out at the end of the year. gm has also sold over a million flexfuel vehicles over the years. chevy alone has 6 vehicles that acheive over 30 mpg (with the cobalt being more fuel efficient than the camry and the two-mode tahoe having better city mpg than a 4cylinder camry). so to say that american automakers only make gas guzzling trucks is ignorant.

instead of spending 25000 on a prius, youre better off buying a geo metro type vehicle that gets better mpg for thousands less- but then again, you wont have that "holier than thou hybrid image" that everyone desires.

I tried recently to buy a Prius because I'm a Realtor and spend alot of money on gas I figured I would save money. But on line the Prius is priced at 21-23,000 however, there isn't a dealer anywhere that will sell one less than $26,000 for used! Its more like $28,000 new. I think I'll wait til Honda floods the market with the new ones, or the plug in variety that gets 100 mpg.

Fuel Cell technology will put a large dent in economies of the oil producing countries. Therefore there is no great hurry to bring this technology to market. Countries who rely on money from oil would be thrust back into poverty. They need to wake up an invest in new industries.

wow, alternatives are finally being discussed.

I'm all for oil going to $200 if that will get alternatives implemented- FAST.

Electric cars will make sense once realize that Nuclear energy is the way to go. Nuclear power currently accounts for 20% of our power and we need more. With Nuke power you can charge your car battery without creating any CO2 emissions and tell the Arabs to %$## off, what a deal.
