I purchased an expensive item on EBay using paypal. The seller never shipped the item.

I am glad I did not send him a mobey order, with paypal money was returned.

Paypal is a rip. We quit using them and found that all buyers will send a postal money order so far. We will pay the .95 cost of the money order and still save 25.00 on a 700.00 item.

Ebay WAS a good idea, a great idea! but now it's run on GREED and I dont use it anymore! and never will! Maybe if they dropped or lowered some fee's, made PayPal FREE... they'd STILL make enough to get their dogs nails pedicured twice a week

You list an item for $.99 cents, listing fee is $.10 gallery .35 cents $ .09 Final Value Fee when you sell it (That’s a total FEE of $.54 cents for selling a .99-cents item). Then PayPal takes a $.47 cents bite off of that and you’re left with a negative of -.02 cents. So in other word you got zipped of the .99 cents sale and you have to come up with an extra $.02 cents to cover PayPal because the net of $.54 cents isn’t enough to cover the $.74 cents PayPal fee for transferring the $.99 cents and the Shipping Cost into your PayPal account.

I hate those rates too... but I have never had a problem with security or receiving payment from PayPal.

Try it for yourself... or use your credit card of choice. (USA style)

Ebay has begun to leverage its power here in the US too. The have raised the rates for sellers and they nickel and dime them at every opportunity. I would say, the time is ripe for a new competitor to jump into the market. Bill Gates, what are you waiting for?
