The spiral has not stopped and now, you want a car you must pay 20,000 plus, you want a house its 300,000. Thanks to the greedy unions the factory worker who gets 250.00 a week cannot go to work 'cause the transit union wants another raise and more benefits. Why must they earn more than anyone else with the limited education they all have. Can you imagine retiring on 75,000 per year for driving a bus for 20 years. Very, very few college educated workers can get that doing more serious important jobs. That's where the complaint of people nowthat the unions have destroyed the american dream and the country. Maybe they are correct.

I agree union did a great job at the beginning but once the job was done they were not satisfied, they went on to bleed the company by asking for a higher "living wage" and more and more benefits way above posibility under the threat of a "strike". Then the prices of everything started to go higher to pay for those wages and benefits . Then the union came back and asked for higher wages and moore benefits and the prices continues to go up and so on. I spent many years in the UAW and saw first hand what it caused. The apt I rented went from 30.00 a month to 50.00 a month, the utilities were raised also 'cause the union wanted another living wage. It seems their idea of a living wage is always way above what every other job is paying. When I went to NYC the wages were fair for the job being done and you could buy a car for 2500.00 and a house for 6,000. Then the union forced the city under the threat of paralyzing the city with a wage increase of 20%. That spiral has not stopped and

GEO You imply that people we helped during the past wars should be grateful to us and buy only goods made in US. Nice dream but not likely ti will happen. If our own citizens don't do it why should you expect emigrants will. We have been taught to buy the best merchandise posible for the lowest price posible. Feelings of gratitude do not play into that idea. I have seen a family member selling an item but if the neighbor sells it cheaper thats where the money will go. Unfortunately, thats how life is.

Remember, we would not be in this position if someone would have taken action about eighteen months ago concerning the housing loan problems and don't forget the greedy realitors for jacking up the prices of home out of the reach for people to afford, and home buyers had to take a interest first loan in order to buy. Now, Obama the inexperience is trying hard to fix the economy by spending billions in government program, it's not going to work but make things worst. When everything fall apart and all hope has disapeared, and people grow tired of all fail policies, and stop listening to the News media, and start listening, I have a plan that will work and put the economy back on track and everyone will like it and it's simple and it will work quickly.

You can bet your sweat bottoms that if the unions are broke and companies don't have that checks and balances in place they will take full advantage of it. Both union and non union employeers now have to stand up to the standards that are backed by the unions but take that away and the companies will have no reason to do whats right. They will do as they please as cheap as they can, our wages will drop and their profits will rise, don't fool yourself into thinking they will pass on the savings to consumers, they won't have anyone to answer to. You don't think they will just do whats right now do you (the ones that try will be forced out like Wal mart is forceing out what they can now. ) Step out of your hate long enough to concider what I say with an open mind. We will go right back to what it was before the unions came.

It was the unions that forced employers to provide better working conditions and wages in the first place ( remember Flint michigan years ago?) If your company isn't union you can still bet that it is following the improved conditions the unions provided for workers, and they will keep close in thier practices so as to prevent you from wanting one. I'm sorry you resent our benifits but too abd for you , we all know you wouldn't turn them down if you had them!!!A union is a lot like insurance, you have car insurance to protect you in case of trouble and to get you the best deal if there is , well unions are like employment insurance it takes care of us - you pay your premiums we pay our due , your insurnance protects you our unions protect us ------ I would never go uninsured if I could help it ----- would you???

I agreee there are those still fighting the civil war, and the "union" does anybody but me find it intresting though, that it all still boils down to fighting over slave workers? The south then and now are fighting to the death to preserve the right to have slaves. First it was the original civil war and and the "union" fought to free the slaves. Now it's the "unions" fighting to protect workers from slave wages and work conditions. And don't fool yourselves if not for the unions thats exactly what we would have. Just look at the other countries and their work conditions and wages without the unions to protect workers. If not for unionswe would still have sweatshops like other countries.

You can American products EVERYWHERE you go... in fact, Asia is more infused with American culture than Europe is.I mean, Disney World was a failure in Europe so I'd say Europe has more issues with "American" culture than Asia.

Btw, Chinese in China buy more Buicks than Americans... so you don't know what you're talking about saying Asians only buy Asian products. In addition to American cars, have you seen all the Mcdonald's and KFC's and Coca -Colas and American brand clothing in China???

HUH???, African americans were slaves in America but they still buy American Cadillacs... and Americans fought for freedom from the British but Ford still bought shares of Jaguar from the Brits and owns shares of Mazda too... so what the hell are you talking about what a few Asians did in the past???Asian AMERICANS do very well in school and are a vital part of the american high tech industry and contribute greatly to keeping america competitive with FOREIGN ASIANS.Why don't you learn what an American is.
