Well, if our American Car Industry would stop making gas guzzling SUV's and Hummers and start making and inventing cars that save energy, then maybe America and the World would start buying American cars again. Why not have solar cars, hydrogen cars, battery operated etc. smaller but reliable cars? Try to be innovative and not be greedy. Make the best cars, safe, stylish but cost effective cars and the people will come. Stop thinking being greedy and maybe sales will go up. Stop recalls and show innovation and sales will be up.

Let us not forget the unions lived high on the hog. The great society produced a section of society that their grandchildren are trapped in. Remember, approx 48% in N.O. (katrina) were (are?) on welfare. As long as the people in this country want a socialistic (i.e. communistic) govt. you can kiss the capalistic system goodby and the good life it brought for a great Cuban/ N.Korean hand to mouth existance. The govt cannot give you anything that it does not take away from you first. The capitialistic system may not be perfect, but the smart countries are copying it. Vote for the democRATs this fall and say goodby to your savings.

I worked for the automotive industry for 48 years and watched it slowly go to hell. I worked for GM in 1963, Fords in 1966, and went to Chrysler in 1968.I started at Chrysler Corp. in 1968. Even then cars, coming from the bodyshop, had NIPPON stamped on the sheet metal. NIPPON is not a city in Pittsburg. We live downriver and watched the STEEL MILLS close. Dow Chemical Closed. Coal mines closed Salt mines closed. Oil drilling was cut back. Don't forget the gas crisis in the '70's. All the sudden Volkswagon and Honda cars sales were boosting. The VW Plant in Latrobe Pa. was hiring all the people being layed off in Detroit. The Datson 240Z became popular. The Jaguar XKE was the sports car to have. And the beat went on..and on..and on. Assembly line workers in the auto plants were making good wages with good benifits. What happened, the automakers and politicians sold their country out. We were now seeing the beginning of a falling of an AMERICAN industry that was once the greatest in the

Jammerski said- "Ford....... F ound O n R oad D ead Ford...... F ix O r R epair D aily Need I say more !!!! Junk is junk !!!"You are an idiot. Ford may have more gas guzzling behemoths, but they are well made and have longevity. Just look at all the Town Cars, Grand Marqs/Crown Vics, Taurus, Explorers and Expeditions with almost or over 200k. Ford V8s are extremely dependable. I've owned many and have never had an issue. Get a clue.
