I find it very sad that so many here posting seem to think that those that aren't ready for the digital transition are "useless", "lazy", "procrastinators", etc. They also don't seem to feel that these people have the right or need to watch television. Many of these people are hard working, sometimes holding several jobs just trying to get by. Don't they deserve to be able to see the news, be alerted to emergency situations, or just chill for an hour after a long, difficult day? Coupons have only been available over the past year...not three years...and once you have applied, you can't reapply. I really feel for you people that might have to endure a few more months of ads! Too bad you don't have a real problem. SELFISH IDIOTS!

Fine and great for all that will have a signal. There is more to this issue than some of you realize. This whole thing was not well planned out. I know a number of individuals that applied for and received the coupons, only to have them expire before they were able to purchase a box. They just weren't available in the quantities required and disappeared off store shelves before people could get them. I'm talking about rural communities that don't have alot of options available to them. Most of these people are working poor and can't afford to upgrade their televisions or purchase dish or cable. In addition in the rural areas the digital signal isn't working all that well. With the analog signal, it might have been "snowy" at times, but at least you had a signal. With digital it's all of nothing....no in between. Although I have a dish service, I personally have one television on a converter box. There are days when I can pick up a nice crisp picture and lots of channels and

Again, Congress panders to the useless.

Seriously, isn't there more important things going on than to waste their time changing a bill about digital tv? Just switch it already, if it's not that important to those 6 million people who have yet to that converter, why should it affect the switch over? Small potatoes compared to the BIG issues facing us today.........

JEEPMDS 01:48:06 PM Feb 05 2009

I HAVE A BOX FOR IN CASE I NEED IT , I PUT ON ON A 13INCH PORTABLE, IT WORKS GREAT AND PULLS IN ALOT OF NEW LOCAL BROADCASTING, THAT YOU DONT GET WITH JUST THE RABBIT EARS. I WELCOME THE CHANGE, WHENEVER IT IS.

YankeeMillennia1 01:19:28 PM Feb 05 2009

Jesus People had 3 years to do this......friggen democrats....aww poor people lets worry about them and screw everyone else...just buy a damn converter box and stop whining...

DSpicer178 01:13:56 PM Feb 05 2009

Rwzn2bix : You have to do a set up with the converter box ......

KirLaThom 01:09:39 PM Feb 05 2009

This is ridiculous. I am sick to death of seeing the announcements about the conversion. Just do it already. 6 million people need to either wake up or alert their congress person that they don't care about television one way or the other. Take the rest of America out of their misery and get it done. Don't make all of us pay for those 6 million that have refused to act.

My nephew in Jacksonville has an old 27" analog tv. He used to get little but snow on it. He bought a converter box, and the digital channels he watches on it now look as good as or better than cable. No snow whatsoever!

PEOPLE DONT EXCEPT CHANGE UNTIL FORCED TO. THE SAME OLD BITTY THAT ISNT READY FOR THE DIGITAL SWITCH IS GOING TO BE THE SAME OLD BITTY NOT READY FOUR MIONTHS FROM NOW!!!!!!!!!
