Where Drivers Pay the Least
What you pay to own and operate your vehicle goes way beyond the sticker price. But how much -- or in this case, how little -- you pay depends on which state you call home.
That's because financing, insurance, taxes, fees, fuel and other costs vary from state to state.
Click through our gallery as Forbes reveals the best states to own a car.

I saw sparks in my older model iMAC at the location where the power cord attaches to the console. The on/off button still lights-up but the power is dead. Did I fry my IMAC?

I currently live in Southern Illinois. I'm a 38 year driver with good driving record(knock on wood). Things are a little better than Prince William County Virginia, I lived there 17 years ago. I had Farmer's Insurance since 1995. It started out at $268.00 for six months of coverage. It went up about 20 dollars every six months. By Nov. 2007 I got a bill for $583.00. I shopped around. I could not find a higher company except for GEICO. State Farm and AIG had the best rates. I went with AIG for $ 238.00 per six months. I have the same coverage I had with Farmers.
