States Taking Charge
Consumers may finally be getting a break at the pump as some states moved to suspend gasoline excise taxes. Late last week, Georgia legislators suspended the 7.5 cents-a-gallon gas tax and 4 percent sales tax on gasoline. Drivers in Georgia, who are paying as high as $5 per gallon, are hoping to see benefits. Is your state next?
