Vehicle Theft Hot Spots
According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), preliminary crime data released by the FBI contains some positive news on the vehicle theft front. Not only is 2007 on track to be the fourth consecutive year of declining vehicle thefts, but if the preliminary figure of -7.4% holds, it will be the largest single year percent drop in thefts since 1999.
But that may be small comfort to the cities on this list. Click through our gallery as we count down the top 20 areas for vehicle theft in America.

Wait, what the hell? Jaguar just released a new model (XF) and is re-doing all their models right now, the XJ being next. How the hell are they on this list? They no longer have a money problem, because they are no longer owned by ford. This is bull-shit.

HUMMER gets a bad rap cause it is big and the people that want to drive one and can't are pissed off.

I think that's what Hummer owners want to believe. Actually the Hummer is a car that some people like and many people think it's ugly. There doesn't seem to be an inbetween. There are plenty of cars I have no opinion of. There are a few vehicles that every time I see them, I wonder why anyone would buy them. Hummer is one of them. Uuugggly. I prefer streamlined cars. A big square box on wheels is not my idea of being a sharp looking car, nor one that I would envy anyone owning. Given gas prices these days, I look at Hummers as being an albatros around someone's neck.

I think GMC will be around for the simple fact that with the consolidation of Pontiac, GMC, and Buick, GMC will have all of the cargo-carrying vehicles, other than the Enclave and the Vibe. GMC has the Acadia crossover and gets the smaller Terrain, similar to the Saturn VUE.
Besides, there are people that will always buy trucks and SUVs, such as farmers, contractors, people who haul boats and campers, etc. For that group, they should have the choice of an entry-level Chevy or an upscale GMC.
