Zurich to Host Modern Healthcare Webinar on “Medical Homes”
Preparing for coordinated health care delivery can help maximize revenue growth
Business Wire
Recent and ongoing national conversations on healthcare reform have
shone a spotlight on a new approach to patient-oriented, cost effective
healthcare.
The “medical home” is a concept that, despite its name, is more of a
perspective than a piece of property, and on Wednesday, February 24,
Zurich, a leading property and casualty insurance provider globally and
in North America, will host a webinar discussing the financial and
performance-related implications of medical homes.
According to the American College of Physicians, “a Patient-Centered
Medical Home is a team-based model of care led by a personal physician
who provides continuous and coordinated care throughout a patient's
lifetime to maximize health outcomes.”
Featuring an experienced panel of leading industry professionals, this
webinar will highlight:
- How a hospital can function in a medical home structure;
- What the initial investment for a hospital-based medical home is likely to be;
- What elements of the medical home program promote cost-effectiveness and quality care;
- Real-life examples and lessons learned from those who have adopted the model; and
- How health care organizations can plan for a future requiring increased coordination of care and resources.
“As health care reform remains at the forefront of the public mind,
Zurich is offering this webinar to help industry professionals learn
more about how coordinated health care might help increase patient
satisfaction as well as raise revenue,” said Joe Sullivan, senior vice
president, Zurich’s Health Care Management group. “Ensuring that our
customers are well-versed and informed about important industry trends
and topics is another Zurich HelpPoint.”
Barbara Kirchheimer, former Modern Healthcare news editor and reporter,
will moderate the webinar, with featured speakers including:
- Paul Keckley, executive director, Deloitte Center for Health Solutions
- David DiLoreto, M.D., chief medical officer, Resurrection Health Care
- Jay Fathi, M.D., medical director, primary care and community health, Swedish Medical Center
- Jove Graham, Ph.D., Geisinger Center for Health Research
- Janet Tomcavage, RN, MSN, vice president of health services, Geisinger Health Plan
