Xanthus Communications Welcomes Sustainability Expert, Sculptor and Green Inventor Tom Flood to Its Roster of Experts

Tom is the founder of Diluvian LLC, a Seattle-based studio that primarily designs, creates and manages habitable sculptures. Using art and nature as guides, Diluvian strives to creatively integrate and synthesize natural systems in its projects by using native, sustainable materials, local companies and community resources.

Tom Flood has created a new water harvesting invention , The Diluvian Aquicell, that has the potential to revolutionize how fresh or grey water can be stored. Aside from water being imperative for human survival, water as a commodity is a growing, multi-billion dollar industry. First world countries flush 70% of their fresh water down toilets and wash drains. Conserving, storing and re-using fresh water has become a major priority in the Sustainability/Green Movement. Flood's invention, The Diluvian Aquicell is a fully enclosed cistern fence that includes a bladder that is made from a UV-stable fabric. This modular design also allows for the cistern fence frame to be assembled with basic skills, tools and local materials i.e., bamboo in China, rebar in Dubai, mud and sticks in other places. The cost of producing this cistern is less than half of what tanks of similar capacity cost and it can be used for either commercial or residential real estate.
