Wal-Mart offers $100 gift card with BlackBerry
AP
BENTONVILLE, Ark. -Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Wednesday it will offer a $100 gift card with each purchase of a BlackBerry mobile phone and two-year contract, the discounter's latest incentive ahead of the holiday season.
The one-week offer beginning Saturday includes its full assortment of BlackBerry devices from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has been aggressively cutting prices and offering deals across a variety of its categories, from books to toys and other products. The world's largest retailer is aiming to use its size to undercut competitors such as Target Corp. and specialty players.
The offer will also be available online at Walmart.com with an gift card for its online site.
About 3,200 Walmart stores in the U.S. sell and activate post-paid cellular service. Wal-Mart operates 8,159 stores globally.
