China criticizes US anti-dumping move on pipes

BEIJING -China criticized a U.S. decision to impose antidumping duties on Chinese-made pipes used by the oil and gas industry and appealed Wednesday to Washington to avoid protectionism.
The Commerce Ministry accused Washington of improperly calculating the market value of the Chinese pipes when it announced Tuesday it would impose duties ranging from 10.36 percent to 15.78 percent. The U.S. Commerce Department said it was acting to counter improper loans, tax breaks and other subsidies to Chinese producers.
"The Chinese side expresses strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition," ministry spokesman Yao Jian said in a written statement.
"The American side should strictly abide by the G-20 summit's promises and the joint statement by the leaders of the two countries not long ago, oppose protectionism and avoid abusively using trade relief measures," Yao said.
The statement gave no indication whether Beijing might appeal to the World Trade Organization or take other steps.
Washington and Beijing are involved in a series of market-access disputes over tires, movies and other goods. They have confined the conflicts to diplomatic channels, apparently trying to avoid damaging cooperation in other areas such as North Korea, climate and combatting the global financial crisis.
The U.S. duties imposed on Chinese pipes were lower than the 99 percent level proposed earlier by American trade officials.
Still, the Chinese statement complained that U.S. investigators improperly rejected price data provided by the Chinese government and producers.
This month, Beijing launched an antidumping probe of imported U.S. autos that could lead to higher tariffs. It said it was acting on a complaint by Chinese automakers but gave no details of the alleged American misconduct.

Free Trade is a myth and a lie, it's all one way so the corporate banksters can play off whole countries for lowest costs and control a globlized economy and enlslave mankind in a nightmre world. You can't let the Communist Chinese make everything then expect to live the good life. If the USA is going to survive it has to make it's own products not flush our savings to everyone else killing all our real jobs, economy and country. Markets tell the story, we're broke and in so much debt the collapse of the dollar and country, the endless fraud war on terror baloney and semi-police state are the result. Mayeb it's too late we've lost so much and the BS is so deep but unless it's stopped and the globalist banksters like David Rockefeller and his crowd are ended we are going to end as a nation and people. Bn all lobbying, end the FED/IRS scam-just have a flat tax-low! End all tax on homes! Protect our borderslike every other country does and make this the great country it could be with everyone helping each other after taking all our money back from the banksters. Have a nice day and God bless everyone.

It is time to Close the Doors on Many Imports from China. That includes All types of STUFF. Plastic STUFF, Metel STUFF, Anything that can Break or Wear out . Perhaps it is high time to STOP BUYING STUFF. We have too much STUFF already. Just look at the City Dumps and Landfills. They are full of STUFF. STUFF that just sets there. STUFF with no place to go . Why do we want more STUFF when all we do is throw the Stuff away ? We used to repair STUFF in America ( some places on this planet still do ) but We dont any more. Over the years we Trashed and ignored our Repair industry. Now when it breaks, we just go out and buy CHEAP NEW CHINESE STUFF that breaks even faster than the STUFF We used to make and the CHEAP NEW STUFF is now made so it Cannot be Repaired. So take this CHEAP NEW STUFF and STUFF it up the Corporations Uh...
