Trading halted on Nasdaq's options floor
AP
NEW YORK -Trading on the floor of the Nasdaq stock market's Philadelphia Stock Exchange has been halted after technical problems.
The exchange, known as Nasdaq OMX PHLX, handles options trading.
Nasdaq OMX Group spokeswoman Bethany Sherman said Friday there was a floor-wide outage and a team was working on it to determine a cause.
Trading was halted at 12:36 p.m. EDT (1636 GMT).
Nasdaq acquired the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the oldest U.S. stock exchange, in July 2008.
Shares of Nasdaq OMX fell 59 cents, or 2.9 percent, to $19.82.
