Ticonderoga Securities, an institutional broker dealer, today announced that it has expanded its coverage of the technology industry with the addition of Jay Vleeschhouwer, a software research veteran who will lead the firm’s research in the software technology sector.
This expansion of Ticonderoga’s institutional equity research is the latest step in the diversification of the firm’s product offerings, which were most recently expanded to include equity derivatives. Ticonderoga continues to position itself as a leading broker dealer, concentrating on domestic and international equities with a focus on high-quality order execution alongside its differentiated research.
“Jay’s extensive knowledge of the software space will allow us to strengthen our Technology coverage even further as we continue to expand our product offerings,” said Shawn McLoughlin, CEO and Co-Founder of Ticonderoga Securities. “This is a significant step in Ticonderoga’s strategic growth plan.”
Vleeschhouwer joins Ticonderoga with more than 29 years of experience as a research analyst. He most recently served as a managing director at Merrill Lynch where he covered the Design Software and Imaging technology during his 11-year tenure. Vleeschhouwer has covered a variety of technology sectors since 1983 at firms such as Cantor Fitzgerald, Bear Stearns and Josephthal Lyon & Ross, and has had a specialty in software since 1989.
Vleeschhouwer has been regularly ranked in the Institutional Investor and Greenwich Associates annual surveys and has appeared in The Wall Street Journal’s Annual Best on the Street Survey. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a BA in Economics and Political Science, and received his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
“Ticonderoga is a dynamic firm with good, experienced people and I am looking forward to the opportunity to help Ticonderoga ramp up its Technology research,” Vleeschhouwer said. “Software, one of the most diverse areas within all of technology, is experiencing multiple important changes and trends, in terms of business models, technology delivery, product portfolios, and distribution. All of these issues, and others, will be important factors in our research.”
