Lake County News-Sun Launches New Lakes Edition
New Zoned Edition Covers Antioch, Lake Villa, Lindenhurst, Round Lake Area and Surrounding Communities
Business Wire
The Lake County News-Sun, Lake County’s most comprehensive source
of local news for more than 100 years, announced today that it has
successfully launched a new edition in print and online (
www.newssunonline.com)
that will expand local coverage of communities in western Lake County.
The new zoned edition is the third edition for the News-Sun, and will
provide greater news coverage and new advertising opportunities for
readers and businesses in western Lake County in communities including
the Round Lake area, Antioch, Lake Villa, Lindenhurst, Fox Lake,
Ingleside, Wauconda, and Lake Zurich. This exciting new edition builds
on the successes of the News-Sun’s other editions: the Shoreline
edition, which covers from southeastern Wisconsin to Lake Forest and
Highland Park; and the Central Lakes edition, which covers Grayslake,
Gurnee, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills and other nearby
communities.
“Lake County is a dynamic region home to a number of thriving
communities, and the Lake County News-Sun sees enormous opportunities to
serve those communities through expanded local news coverage and more
targeted advertising services for businesses,” said John Barron,
Publisher, Lake County News-Sun. “We are very encouraged by the early
positive feedback we have received from readers and advertisers, and we
are enthusiastic for the future of this region.”
“We have been the Local Voice for Lake County since 1892, and we are
pleased to build on that tradition,” said Chris Cashman, Lake County
News-Sun Editor-in-Chief. “Readers will get more news than ever from
their local village halls to local sports to what’s happening in their
towns and neighborhoods, in addition to breaking news online and text
alerts.”
“The Lake County News-Sun’s newest zone will be geographically designed
to help our advertisers to best target their desired customers,” said
Andrea Sonnenberg, Director of Advertising for the Lake County News-Sun,
which is owned by Sun-Times Media, LLC. “This is just the latest in a
number of new initiatives by Sun-Times Media to better serve the
advertising community in Chicago and beyond.”
