Sprint Launching SANYO Incognito, a Striking Combination of Glow-Through Keypad with Multimedia Functionality & Style
Eye-catching “now-you-see-it-now-you-don’t” keypad and display are stylish on the outside, while full QWERTY keyboard inside makes Incognito a messaging powerhouse
Business Wire
Sprint (NYSE: S) and Kyocera Communications Inc., provider of Kyocera-
and SANYO-branded wireless devices, today announced the launch of the
SANYO Incognito™ SCP-6760. Chock full of media and messaging features,
Incognito features a high-gloss, Titanium Black mirrored external
surface that jumps to life with the activation of the phone’s
glow-through keypad and OLED external display. Flipped open, the phone
boasts a full QWERTY keyboard and a high-resolution 2.6” QVGA internal
display. Optimized for Sprint’s high-speed EVDO network, Incognito will
launch exclusively online Nov. 30, known as “Cyber Monday,” at
www.sprint.com
and in all Sprint retail channels beginning Dec. 6 at a budget-friendly
price of $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year Service
Agreement (all device prices exclude taxes).
At rest, Incognito is clean and elegant. Its glow-through keypad,
however, is easily touch-activated and features vibrating “haptic”
feedback as buttons are pressed, making it extremely user-friendly. With
a 2.0 megapixel camera, advanced music and video features, and
expandable microSD
TM memory, Incognito offers speedy access
to the Web, email and text messaging.
Mega-messengers and social networkers alike will want to take advantage
of the device’s easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard and messaging features.
Sprint offers affordable Everything Data plans, featuring Any Mobile,
Anytime
SM, a feature that removes restrictive calling circles
and provides unlimited nationwide calling on the Sprint network to and
from any U.S. wireless phone regardless of carrier. These plans are
available for individuals and families and include unlimited wireless
calling (wireless to wireless), unlimited text and data starting at just
$69.99 per month (all price plans exclude surcharges and taxes).
Sprint’s Simply Everything
SM plan offers nationwide unlimited
calling, unlimited text and unlimited data, including email, social
networking, Web browsing, Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV, streaming music,
NFL Mobile Live and NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile, for only $99.99 per month
(plus taxes and surcharges). That is a $1,200 savings over two years
versus a comparable AT&T iPhone
® plan
1. Both
Everything Data and Simply Everything plans are available to existing
customers without extending their service agreements. New lines of
service require a two-year service agreement.
“I’m sure Incognito will be topping many holiday gift lists this
season,” said Atsushi (Andy) Kodera, vice president and deputy general
manager at Kyocera Communications Inc. “It’s such a clean, sophisticated
looking phone but there are so many features at your fingertips when you
turn on the glow-through display and open the QWERTY flip. With its
amazing combination of style and functionality for less than $50, it’s
about as foolproof a gift idea as you’ll see this year.”
Incognito includes popular media and messaging applications including
Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter right from your Sprint
® One
Click carousel; Sprint Navigation’s voice and on-screen, turn-by-turn
driving directions; Sprint NFL Mobile Live, NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile and
real-time scores and statistics; and Sprint Mobile Email for access to
AOL
®, Yahoo
®, WindowsLive™, Gmail
® and
corporate email. Incognito supports AAC/AAC+/MP3/WMA music files and
H.263/H.264/MPEG4/WMV video formats.
The Sprint Mobile Broadband Network (inclusive of data roaming) reaches
more than 269 million people, 18,652 cities and 1,838 airports. The
Sprint Networks (inclusive of data roaming) have twice the coverage of
AT&T’s current 3G network and 14 times the coverage of T-Mobile’s
current 3G network, both based on square miles
2.
Sprint is also the only wireless carrier to offer Ready Now service with
trained retail associates to work one-on-one with customers to
personalize their Incognito, set up features and demonstrate how it
works before the customer leaves the store. Customers have the choice of
sitting down with a Sprint retail associate at the time of purchase or
they can schedule an appointment for a later time at
www.sprint.com/storelocator.
Incognito joins Kyocera’s SANYO SCP-3810, also launched this month, in
Sprint’s compelling holiday handset lineup. With a translucent, hidden
external caller-ID display, the SCP-3810 includes a 1.3 megapixel camera
and a large, 2.4-inch high-resolution internal display with a convenient
large-font option for better legibility. The handset is polished with a
luxurious mirrored finish and is available in Regal Red or Black Onyx.
