PHILADELPHIA and LONDON, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomson Reuters today announced that the South Dakota Board of Regents has chosen to provide

The new contract calls for expanding access to arts and humanities databases in addition to continuing use of science and social science databases.
Web of Science -- which provides researchers, faculty, and students access to the world's leading research citation indexes -- is part of the

Web of Knowledge.( )
"The South Dakota Board of Regents is pleased to continue and expand the subscription to
Web of Science for the state's six public universities," said Sam Gingerich, system vice president for academic affairs, South Dakota Board of Regents. "With this research tool, teachers and students throughout the system gain access to information from leading databases and thousands of journals."
Using the

ISI Web of Knowledge, students and faculty of the higher-education institutions governed by the South Dakota Board of Regents now have access to more than 12,000 of the most prestigious research journals from around the world. Additionally, the Board of Regents now offers researchers other components of the
ISI Web of Knowledge suite including:
-- BIOSIS Previews, which combines journal content from Biological
Abstracts(R) with supplemental, non-journal coverage from Biological
Abstracts/RRM(R).
-- EndNote(R), used by researchers, scholarly writers, students, and
librarians to search online bibliographic databases, organize references
and related files, and create bibliographies and figure lists instantly.
-- Current Contents Connect(R), a database that provides easy Web access to
complete tables of contents, abstracts, bibliographic information, and
abstracts from the most recently published issues of leading scholarly
journals, as well as from more than 7,000 relevant, evaluated websites.
-- Journal Citation Reports(R), a systematic, objective means to critically
evaluate the world's leading journals, with quantifiable,
statistical information based on citation data.
"We are delighted the South Dakota Board of Regents decided to embrace the
ISI Web of Knowledge solution," said Keith MacGregor, EVP, Scientific and Scholarly Research at Thomson Reuters.
