NEW YORK -Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. said Tuesday it has agreed to a partnership with Shanghai International Port Co. to help develop and support the Chinese cruise industry.
The partnership will strengthen operations in terms of promoting the market, training staff and building management experience. Activities include developing international cruise terminals with the addition of retail outlets, ticket agent services and a one-stop boarding and clearance service for Royal Caribbean guests.
Royal Caribbean said China's long-term economic growth has boosted travel among consumers, with cruises growing in attractiveness.
This partnership will help boost visitors from overseas and expand China's cruise market, the company said.
Shares declined 29 cents to $22.48.
