Shares of BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. jumped in premarket trading after the company said its experimental drug peramivir received emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration as a swine flu treatment.
DVD rental company Netflix Inc. is betting that its plan to stream content to users' TVs through the PlayStation 3 gaming console may help it win millions of new customers, but the deal's benefits are uncertain as competitive threats from other digital content providers remain, said a Janney Montgomery Scott analyst.
A Jefferies & Co. analyst recommended investors buy shares of a nursing facility operator Skilled Healthcare Group Inc. citing better reimbursement, an improving economy, and a belief that investor sentiment is improving.
Business for Shaw Group Inc. should increase as oil prices rise, an analyst said as he upgraded shares of the engineering and construction company.
Profit could decline significantly at KBR Inc. this year with the exit of U.S. troops from Iraq, an analyst said as he downgraded the military contractor.
