NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 10/23/09 -- Olympia Asset Management, an equities trading boutique, has launched Olympia Capital Markets Group. Olympia Capital is the institutional management division of Olympia Asset Management which is located in midtown Manhattan. Olympia Asset Management was founded in 2002. Olympia Asset Management is a registered member of FINRA and SIPC.

Paul Resnik and Filipe Blackwood Oliveira will be responsible for assembling a team and developing a strategy that utilizes a variety of fundamental, technical, quantitative and macroeconomics disciplines. The philosophy of Olympia Capital is to deliver optimal performance through a disciplined investment process with rigorous manager research.

Joining the team as Head Trader is Sean F. Murray. Mr. Murray has worked in the financial industry for over 15 years, including 10 years on the trading floor of the COMEX. Mr. Murray will be responsible for providing institutional equity investors with technical ideas. At COMEX, Mr. Murray managed and advised institutional investors on hedging strategies, technical plays and the fundamental components effecting commodities markets. At Olympia Capital he will be responsible for leading the trading operation and market analysis.

Mr. Resnik's 40 year career on Wall Street has included executive positions at Smith Barney, E.F. Hutton, Paine Webber, Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers. At Lehman Brothers, he was a member of the Equity Research Department and Investment Policy Committee. Filipe Blackwood Oliveira brings hedge fund and M&A experience to the group. He worked at DB Advisors, 164 billion Euro AUM, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank AG. Mr. Oliveira was also at RESIG Partners where he analyzed and assisted a 3 billion dollar fund. At Deutsche Bank he also initiated and partnered with community-based organizations that provide free housing counseling and information about legal services to those at risk of losing their home to foreclosure.
