October Auto Sales: BMW North America sales fall

NEW YORK -Auto maker BMW of North America LLC said Tuesday its October auto sales tumbled 19.1 percent as sales across most models declined.
BY THE NUMBERS: Total sales fell to 20,619 vehicles last month from 25,475 in October 2008. For the first ten months of the year, sales fell 23.7 percent to 199,838 compared with 261,802 in the same period last year.
THE DIVISIONS: Sales of BMW brand vehicles dropped 18.6 percent to 16,443, while demand for Mini brand cars slid 20.8 percent to 4,176.
TOP SELLER: Sales of BMW's 3 Series vehicles fell 9.1 percent to 8,239.
