Nu Skin rises on better-than-expected estimate

PROVO, Utah -Shares of Nu Skin Enterprises Inc., which sells anti-aging skin-care products and nutritional supplements, rose on Tuesday after the company offered a better-than-expected estimate for the third quarter.
Earnings will come in either at 39 cents or 40 cents per share, up from 26 cents last year. Results include a penny per share in restructuring costs.
Revenue rose 8 percent to $334.2 million, helped by improvement in parts of Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of 34 cents per share and revenue of $315.1 million.
The company expects year earnings of $1.25 to $1.27 with revenue of $1.29 billion and $1.30 billion. Results include restructuring charges of 13 cents.
Analysts expect earnings of $1.29 and revenue of $1.27 billion.
The company will provide full quarterly results on Oct. 29.
Shares of the company rose $2.07, or 9.4 percent, to $24.02 in afternoon trading.
